Being church going citizens in our city of Mandurah, my wife and I went to church at Mandurah Baptist Church on the corner of Pinjarra Road and Rio Grand Avenue in Greenfields, only to find on arrival, some persons unknown had totally smashed all of the glass in the front doors at the entrance to the church.
I was told by Pastor Hans that they had pictures on CCTV of two Caucasian males riding bicycles and wearing hoodies when the windows and doors were smashed. The information was handed to the police, who did the usual thing and issued a slip for insurance. This is not the first time this has happened, prior to this, the doors and side windows were smashed, reported and no result.
I would like to see more police out on the streets, especially at night when these people usually hang about with little to do to occupy themselves other than damage property or get into trouble. I would like to see these individuals caught and made to front up on Sundays at church and see for themselves that the people who go to church are just like their own families and parents and grandparents. They are not rich, but the money for replacing the glass that was broken by the vandals, will come out of the pockets of those attending the church. We are all proud of the food ministry our church runs and which provides food packages for less fortunate people and a Christmas box for those who have little or nothing to brighten their Christmas.
And yet these vandals have the time to ride around at night smashing doors and windows just to amuse themselves. Our church also provides counselors to assist people with problems in their lives. They may be able to put you two guys on the right track and save you and your parents a lot of grief in the future. I challenge you to turn up at church and I challenge the magistrate; when you are caught and you will be; to force you to attend. It may be better that you turn up voluntarily rather than wait, you may just learn something. Have you got the guts, or do you only have intestinal fortitude when you are out at night on your bikes vandalising property.
This is a wake-up call also for the Police Department of Mandurah, and the State Government, that we do not have enough police in Mandurah. That problem goes way back to Ex Premier Richard Court when he was in power; he promised an extra 800 police, which never eventuated and governments since then have been playing catch up. This is not a criticism of the Police, but rather of the government.
My criticism of the Government is to stop trying to make Mandurah into some kind of a circus attraction for tourists. Clean up our own backyard; get rid of the drug dealers and the people walking around the place out of their tree, high on drugs. You can see it around the streets, young men walking around raving at the sky, talking and shouting to themselves, they are not only a danger to themselves but also to everyone else.
Drugs are at the bottom of all of Mandurah’s problems, this is no longer a quiet beach side town and this place has become dangerous. Do the right thing and give us the police to do the job properly. When I read the local newspapers regarding the reports of criminals coming before the courts and those who commit crimes in Mandurah, from arson to pedophilia and assaulting public officers, Police and paramedics who are trying to assist people, I am disgusted with the number of Community Based Orders that are handed out to these thugs. I think the Police should be commended for not losing faith in their jobs and the courts should hand down a suitable sentence to fit the crime committed instead of a suspended sentence or community service. The sentence should fit the crime; stop protecting criminals. At this rate we will never slow down or stop the crime rate in Mandurah.
Stop trying to make Mandurah something it is not. Didn’t you recently just complete the Forum, which by the way is what killed the centre of Mandurah, now you are going to kill the forum by shifting everything to the foreshore? The Forum by the way is far too big for Mandurah. With an ageing population there would not be many who could stand a day’s shopping at the forum without being completely exhausted. The place goes for miles and you can’t find anything that is not made in China. That should be the Government’s main concern, Australia produces very little, we are completely in the grip of Beijing. We have thousands of unemployed and no jobs, China makes everything for us, it’s an utter disgrace. Wake up Australia before it’s too late.
I consider China to be likened to a giant octopus, with its tentacles spreading all around the world, killing off other countries for their own purpose, corrupting and spreading hate and pollution. We need to get China under control; stand up for Australia’s rights, cease trading with China, make our own goods, and if the Chinese Minister for trade publicly bad mouths us again, put him on a one way flight back to China.
Enough is enough. Have you noticed what China is doing in Hong Kong; making new laws to incriminate the young students who want an independent Hong Kong, out of the octopus like reach of communist Beijing. They have a right to be free but now they will be arrested , transported to China and will disappear or be behind bars for life, they only want freedom like everyone else. China is a cancer on the world, I find no fault with the Chinese people, they are controlled by their communist Government and kept poor.
